Project Notes: Clapham Common Kitchen
The Brief:
Our clients at Clapham Common wanted a calm, contemporary kitchen that would feel elegant within the character of their period property. With beautiful high ceilings, large windows and generous natural light, the aim was to create a Modern Kitchen that felt bright, practical and sociable, while introducing warmth through natural textures and a carefully balanced palette.
The Design:
To complement the proportions of the room, we designed a clean, linear kitchen with a soft neutral finish and warm wood-effect detailing. The result is a refined Handleless Kitchen with a timeless feel, where the cabinetry sits comfortably alongside the home’s traditional architectural features.
The layout is centred around a practical Island Kitchen, providing additional preparation space, informal seating and useful open storage. A light worktop keeps the scheme fresh and understated, while the timber accents add depth and warmth without overpowering the room. Integrated Lighting beneath the wall units and within the shelving creates a soft, welcoming glow, enhancing both the functionality and atmosphere of the space.
The Result:
This Clapham Common project demonstrates how a contemporary kitchen can work beautifully within a period home. By combining elegant cabinetry, premium Worksurfaces, practical storage and high-performance Appliances, we created a kitchen that feels relaxed, sophisticated and perfectly suited to everyday family living.
